1. Mavins Record : Mavins record founded by Don Jazzy in 2012 . The label evolved from Mo hits , which was founded by Nigerian music star Dbanj and producer Don Jazzy. It was after the split between the two music stars that Don Jazzy founded the Mavin records.
Tiwa was one of the first and prominent signings of the label , other early signings of the label were Wande Coal, Iyanya, Korede Bello, Di'ja , Dj BigN D Prince, Dr Sid, Rekado Banks, Johnny Drille ,Poe and DNA twins .
The record label is also the home for young and trending artists such as : Rema , Boy spyce, Ayra star, crayon, Ladipoe and Magixx .
2. DMW: Founded by Davido ,in 2016. The label is home to recording acts, such as Dremo, Yonda, Peruzzi, Idowest, DJ Ecool, Danagog, B-Red, Deekay, May D, Deinde, Ayanfe, Liya, Morravey, and Logos Olori. It also houses producers Fresh vdm and Speroach Beatz. Artists affiliated and formerly signed to the label, include Ichaba, Lola Rae, Lil Frosh, and Mayorkun.
3.YBNL: Founded by Olamide in 2012 .The record label was the home for former arts like
Lil Kesh, viktoh, chinko Ekun, Adekunle Gold, xino, Davolee, Lyta, Picazo raph, pelepele, Yomi blaze,limerick, .

4. Chocolate City: Chocolate city is one of the oldest record labels on the list. Founded in 2005 by Audu Maikori along with Paul Okeugo and Yahaya Maikori. In 2015, Audu stepped down and M.I became the CEO.
A huge chunk of artists have been affiliated with chocolate city in one way or the other.
Chcocolate city has been home to Ckay, Victoria Kimani, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz etc. in the past. The biggest African song ever-Love Nwantiti was released under this label.
Chocolate city is currently home to Young John, Blaqbonez, Tar1q and Candy Bleakz.
5. EMPAWA AFRICA
Empawa Africa was founded in November 2018 by Tosin Ajibade, an Afrobeats star and business man who goes by Mr. Eazi.
Empawa Africa is not exactly a record label per say, but they do function as one. Mr. Eazi describes it as a bank for African artistes that produces services.
When it was founded, 100 African artists from 11 African countries were picked and each one was given a fully funded music video. Eventually, only the top 2 or 3 artists are fully invested in.
